1. Introduction
Welcome to Oppad ("the App"). These Terms & Conditions govern your account creation and use of our community-powered transit tracking service.
By creating an account and logging sightings, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the App.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. By using the App, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement under South African law.
3. User-Generated Content (UGC) Policy
Our App relies on community-submitted bus sightings. To maintain a safe and reliable environment, the following rules apply:
- Zero Tolerance: There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
- Prohibited Content: You may not submit sightings containing profanity, hate speech, or intentionally false information designed to mislead commuters.
- Moderation: We reserve the right to use automated filters and human moderation to remove inaccurate or offensive logs.
- Reporting: Users can report inaccurate sightings or abusive behavior directly through the App.
4. Account Management & Deletion
To log sightings, you must register an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
Data Deletion: In compliance with Google Play policies and POPIA, you may delete your account and all associated personal data at any time through the Profile settings. Once deleted, this action is irreversible.
5. Advertisements & Third-Party Links
The App displays advertisements to remain free for users. By using the App, you agree to the display of these ads. We are not responsible for the content, products, or services offered by third-party advertisers.
6. Reliability Scoring & Rewards
Your "Reliability Score" is a metric used to verify the quality of your contributions. We reserve the right to reset scores or revoke badges if we detect "farming" (logging fake sightings to gain points) or other fraudulent activity.
7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The App is a community tool. We do not guarantee the arrival times of any bus or taxi.
- We are not responsible for any missed transport, financial loss, or personal safety issues arising from reliance on user logs.
- The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
